Cloud Server Backup Service Video

Cloud Server Backup Service (CSBS) can create a backup for an ECS (Elastic Cloud Server) and BMS (Bare Metal Server) (including the configuration specifications of the ECS and BMS, and data on system and data disks), and restore the service data of the ECS and BMS by using the backup data. This service ensures the security and correctness of the data.

Easy to Use

Backup can be configured in three easy steps and does not require elaborate planning. In addition, the storage space on backup servers can be easily expanded when required.

With different backup policies, backup can be automatically done to cover various backup scenarios. Permanent incremental backup slashes the backup duration. Incremental restoration restores only the data modified since last backup.

The initial full backup backs up all data on EVS disks. Subsequent backups are incremental, backing up only the data modified since the last backup.

Application Scenarios

Hacker attacks and virus infection

CSBS can restore a server to the latest backup point in time when the server has not been affected by hacker attacks and viruses.

CSBS can restore a server to the backup point in time prior to the mis-deletion.

Application update errors

CSBS can immediately restore the system to the latest backup time point before the application update to restore normal system operation.

Server breakdown

CSBS can immediately restore the disk data of the server before the system breaks down or restore the data to another server.

Local AZ fault

The data can be restored in other AZs using replicas to restore the services quickly.

Ease of Use

Policy-driven online backup simplifies configuration and has no adverse impact on services.

  • Online backup

Running ECSs can be backed up online, without interrupting services.

  • Automatic backup

A backup policy can be easily defined and associated with one or more ECSs for automatic backup.

Efficient Backup and Restoration

Incremental backup and restoration improve efficiency.

  • Full or incremental backup

Incremental backup backs up only the files that have changed since the last full or incremental backup. Full backup backs up all selected data.

  • Incremental restoration

The latest backup is used for restoration. Only data changed since the last backup is restored.

CSBS ensures data consistency and stores backups across data centers.

  • Crash-consistent backup

EVS disks on an ECS are backed up at the same point in time without freezing applications and file systems. Memory data is not backed up during this process.

  • Reliability

A backup is sliced and is stored in multiple data centers, preventing failures at the data center level.

Getting Started

  • Apply for Space

  • Create CSBS Backup

  • Execute CSBS Backup

  • Restore Servers

Apply for Space

1. Log in to the ManageOne Operation Portal and go to the CSBS console.

2. Click Apply for space in the middle of the page.

3. Apply for the required space.

Backup copies occupy storage space.

Create CSBS Backup

1. In the upper right corner of the page, click Create CSBS Backup.

2. Select an availability zone.

3. Select the server to be protected.

4. Create or select a backup policy.

5. Select Back up now.

6. Apply for a CSBS instance.

1. Servers in the same AZ can be bound to a policy.

2. Only servers bound to a backup policy can be backed up.

Execute CSBS Backup

1. Click the Policies tab in the upper left corner of the page.

2. Click Execute > Incremental backup to manually create a backup copy.

A backup copy can be manually created or automatically created by using a backup policy.

Restore Servers

1. Click the Backups tab in the upper left corner of the page.

2. Locate the row that contains the backup copy, and choose Restore > Source Server to restore the backup copy to the source server.

Backup copies can be restored to the source server or another server.
